Ryan's Bay Hotel

I have visited Mwanza many times for business and have stayed at more than a half-dozen different hotels/guesthouses in the city and I must say Ryan's Bay Hotel in Mwanza Tanzania is by far my favorite.

It has a good location right on Lake Victoria not far from the city centre.

It is far enough away to avoid the city noise and traffic but still within walking distance of banks/restaurants/shopping etc.

The rooms are quite large and well appointed, bathrooms clean, and the showers are powerful.

Most of the rooms have a patio and a nice view over Lake Victoria.

The restaurant serves up a great breakfast buffet and also has a good menu of Indian, western, and local style dishes.

The service is great and the staff has always been very helpful and attentive.

What truely distinguishes this hotel from all others is the sense of caring and pride from the Manager Yvonne and owner Lucas. It is difficult to explain how important this is, but they know the business and how to treat guests properly.

This feeling is in the culture of the staff from top to bottom who are well treated and reflect this attitude in their daily work. We could go on and on, but enough said.

The hotel offers the complete package of a well run business by people who really care.
